•August 9, 2008 • 2 Comments

Prabhu Deva is directing Vijay for the film ‘Villu’ and the dance master-turned actor-turned director is more than confident about the movie’s prospects at the box office. When asked if ‘Villu’ will be as successful as ‘Pokiri’, the director said he hopes it will be three times more vibrant than ‘Pokiri’.

When asked about big names such as Vadivelu and Nayantara in the film, Prabhu Deva said, ‘When Vijay was confirmed for the project, one of my assistants literally begged me to cast Nayantara in the film. His desire seems to be working wonderfully well and the film is shaping up very well’.

‘The film would start off in a pleasant way in a picturesque habitat and jovial manner with family, friends and lorry loads of fun. A gory incident takes place and the action begins. Vijay would be awesome in these scenes. Songs and fights have come out impressively and I am very happy with things’.

Talking about Nayantara in the film, Prabhu Deva gives a sneak peek of her introduction scene. ‘When you are running for cover after it starts raining and then you find a beautiful girl with an umbrella standing in the rain inviting you the share the umbrella with her, how would you feel?’ asks the director.

Well, Nayantara might just have to dance in the rain once again after ‘Kuselan’.

When asked about Prabhu Deva’s Hindi remake of ‘Pokiri’ featuring Salman Khan, the expert dancer turned director says, ‘it has been about seven years since Salman had acted in an action packed film. He has performed extremely well and the movie is sure to be exciting’.

Zlatan Ibrahamovic feels easy to play under Mourinho

•August 9, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Inter star Zlatan Ibrahimovic managed to get some playing minutes on his return from injury today in the first match of the Amsterdam Tournament against Sevilla. After the match, which finished goalless, he talked about his condition and his impression of coach Jose Mourinho.I felt good, I played without feeling pain,” he said. “I am improving every day. I’ve been working to come back for over a week. Clearly I still lack the match rhythm, but it all went well, just like we hoped.

“Mourinho had asked me how I felt the last few days. He saw I did well during training and I told him I was ready to get back on the pitch. It was important to verify how the work was going and the result was positive.”I’m very happy about the things Mourinho has said about me in this period, he has trust in me and I have faith in him too. I think he can still give me a lot to grow and I think I can give a lot to him and to Inter.”

Mourinho announced today that the Swede will play 45 minutes of tomorrow’s match against his former club Ajax, who are hosting the tournament.”We will evalute in the next few hours how the knee is doing but I think there are no problems, so I hope to play tomorrow and also in Lisbon against Benfica in the last friendly,” Ibra concluded.

Will singh be the King???

SINGH IS KINNG is all set to get box office jingling. Though it won’t be fair to comment that the buzz here is unparalleled (all biggies like OM SHANTI OM or RACE or WELCO

Singh is King

Singh is King

ME or DHOOM 2 had equal and in some cases even better hype), the rush at the advance counters has proved that SINGH IS KINNG is well on it’s way to take a bumper first week initial. At select single screens and multiplexes where the plans are already open, one can already witness sell out signs for number of shows in the first weekend.Currently OM SHANTI OM is the only film which has managed to break the 40 crores barrier when it comes to collections from Indian box office. RACE, WELCOME and DHOOM 2 follow suit with close to 35 crores each in the first week.  While SINGH IS KINNG appears all set to cross the 35 crores mark, it has to be seen if the built up in hype and buzz is to the kind of extent which would threaten collections of even OM SHANTI OM.As for GOOD LUCK, the other release of the week, the film would not have met with a great response even if it would have arrived solo. GOOD LUCK is not even expected to get a good chain of theaters and show timings due to exhibitors keeping their eyes locked on SINGH IS KINNG. Now if this can’t be termed as a suicide, how else would one explain the arrival of GOOD LUCK at theaters this Friday. Now all the film needs for itself is, what else, but some ‘good luck’!

Mobile Linux platform to take on Google’s android

•August 5, 2008 • Leave a Comment

GOOGLE’S LINUX-BASED mobile phone platform, Android, isn’t the only game in town. Th e Linux Phone Standards Forum (LiPS) has fi nished the fi rst version of its mobile specifi cation. Th e specifi cation now includes APIs (application programming interfaces) for telephony, messaging, calendar, and instant messaging  functions, as well as new user-interface components. The various mobile Linux groups are trying to accomplish the same thing, according to Bill Weinberg, general manager for LiPS. “[We] are all attempting to unify… a fragmented market, but we’re going about it in different fashions,” he says.
LiPS isn’t meant to be a complete phone offering, says Weinberg, but it should provide some features that competing platforms don’t. The telephony API is a particularly important component, because it will allow developers to create various voice-telephony applications; as a result, an online phone book could off er, for instance, one-click dialing—a capability that developers don’t anticipate having access to on Apple’s iPhone. Weinberg expects to see commercial phones using the standard soon.

Audio Files editing can be done easy

•August 5, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Hi friends,
How  are you?? I am fine. Hope are all fine. In this post I am explaining about the Audio editing software which edits audio files very easily.FIDDLING WITH AUDIO files has become an increasingly necessary chore for many music enthusiasts—from trimming audio files to removing unwanted artifacts like noise, to adding novel sound effects. With Audacity you can do all this. This is a free tool that lets you tweak sound fi les in every possible way. The software is bundled with a plethora of goodies, including an amplitude editor, a customizable spectrogram and a nifty frequency analysis feature that lets you strip your sound files to the core. You also can add new effects to existing audio fi les, enhance your low quality MP3 fi les by adding thumping bass, or using the noise removal feature to clean the songs. Audacity has an easy to use interface, and the menus and features are largely self explanatory. We highly recommend this tool—it’s got something for everyone and it costs nothing! What’s more, you don’t even need to download the software—it’s there on this month’s DVD..

Hand held PC

•August 5, 2008 • 1 Comment

THE BUZZ: EXCITEMENT continues to surround Origami, the Intel and Microsoft handheld PC project that’s now offi cially called the Ultra Mobile PC. In the United States, Asus and Samsung have each announced plans to release the tablet-like units, which will include a tool called Microsoft TouchPack that optimizes the touch screen for both stylus input and fi ngertip controls. BOTTOM LINE: THE UMPCs look like “tweener” products to me: Too big to fit in a pocket, but too small to use for real work. The fact that one of them costs as much as a standard notebook isn’t a selling point, either

Solid State dives may grow to 128Gb

•August 4, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Hi friends,

IF YOU’RE LOOKING for a fast, quiet, solid-state drive for your laptop, you will soon have several more options. In early 2008, Toshiba will begin manufacturing fl ash-based solid-state drives, which the company promises will off er faster boot times and lower power consumption than current hard-disk models do. Initially the drives will be available in capacities of 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB. High prices for fl ash memory have limited adoption of solid-state drives so far, but industry observers expect Toshiba and other storage manufacturers (such as Samsung) to ramp up production, which may lower prices and spur wider use. Supposedly, solid-state drives are more durable than hard disks, too. Production of 1.8 and 2.5 inch SATA drives will begin in May. Toshiba is quoting a 100-megabytes-per-second maximum read speed and a 40-MBps maximum write speed, fi gures that are right in line with the speeds of most desktop hard drives.
